Self Pity
Looking back at everything I've done
I realize I did nothing fun
Seeing everyone hit the streets
While I just lay here on my sheets
Checking my Facebook to see what's up
All I saw was pictures of girls holding a cup
As I sit in utter disbelief
I can feel the sudden rush of grief
Knowing that everyone is out living the life
I propel myself into sudden strife
Maybe I've been doing it all wrong
Because I still don't know if I belong
In this cold, prejudice world that we inhabit
That just seems to harvest evil like the Sabbat
Am I in over my head?
Or is society poisoning me like lead?
Because fun is now toxic
Yet people make it look exotic
All of a sudden I wish I was them
So another one's mind I can condemn
Because I know I am more than what I am
Yet I can't stop denying the fact I'm an innocent little lamb
I realize that my time is not now
To go out and allow
Myself and be precipitous
And at the same time try to make it serendipitous
Just because 'yolo' isn't my motto
Doesn't mean I live in a grotto
Self pity can drive people crazy
And make ones thought seem a little hazy
Something wrong with this poem?
