Self Proclaimed Queen

You shout attop a hill of your own design

We stop and wait

You make rules and draw the lines

We listen to promises that are always late

One by one they leave

I stick around

Being let down hurts less the more it happens

You continue to yell louder

I get scared so I never leave

Voices yell from other directions

I want to go but I've watched you shout for so long

Your hill falls and I am crushed

You leave to create a new hill

I am left behind
