Selfishness

Sometimes, in the rainstorm, you bump into another

But most of the time, you don’t. The rain is a solitary

thing, a divider. But when you do…

Perhaps your umbrella hits theirs, and you silently curse

at the idiot who could not watch where they were going.

Your boots might splash a little as you walk, and maybe you

chance a glance behind you.

Perhaps you were cursed at in return.
