Semi-classy Good Riddance

You changed my roses from black to red,

But they’re back to black today.

My world once full of color

Has faded into grey.

You made me feel special

And beautiful all the time;

My day was never dreadful

When your hand was in mine.

But you changed quickly-

Shattered my heart in your haste,

Left me alone and broken

To fall flat on my face.

You said, “We can be friends.”

What a load of bull!

One sentence, three words

Made our “friendship” dysfunctional.

I’m glad for the time we had

Because now I can see

You’re stupid and immature,

And it wouldn’t work between you and me.

So onward goes life

As we go our separate ways

I’m going to find someone better,

And you might too, some day…
