Sempiternal

Sew shut these sempiternal scars Using threads from my heartstrings The ones I would strum in longing for you I have tied a knot in the snake in my soul Watch it slither, wither and die Trying to consume what it cannot have As I mount my nightmare and break it Riding off to the safe parts of my mind I have taken your scepter and sword You no longer rule this ocean of thought A pirate of my own brain and leader of its waves As the stars play merry go round I rest on my Iceland in this sea of thinking Finally free of war and tyranny The empire of abuse has ended in me
