Senior Year

All I want is to make Mom and Dad proud

To be a "well rounded student" they say

Do sports! Do school! And don't forget to pray

When all I want to do is scream out loud.

I feel like I am alone in a crowd.

Sit down, shut up and learn this now, they yell

Maybe I have my own story to tell...

All I can do is my best, this is my vow.

Mom and Dad always say, "You will be great!"

They are genuine in their love and care

I've appreciated them both since my birthdate

If I need anything they have a spare

They push and push and push me 'til I break

They mean well, but there's only so much I can bare
