Sensation

You're liquid

And fire

And everything I've ever wanted

You're pain

My misery

You move me like the waves never could

Teeth like silver blades

Eyes like poisoned honey

You're everything I could never have

You give me shelter

And a coat made of gold

So heavy in your embrace

You place a crown of thorns upon my head

And call me by a different name

How dare I resist the temptation?

The coldness of my heart

Matches the beat of your music

Oh, sensation

My sweet temptation

Guard my soul

Your soul to take

Let's make a deal

Burn the damned crown

And leave the thorns where curiosity can reach

The Darcy Perspective

No one said that you are going to go through life unscathed. You will be hurt. You are going to hate people and people are going to hate you. You will even hate yourself. But those are not good enough reasons to give up. Someone out there loves you and cares about you and it will never be enough for you to love them back. You can’t just be done because your expectations weren’t met. You don’t deserve what you have, and until you understand that, you will never be happy with what you get.
