Serendipity
I’ve always wanted to meet someone like that,
While dancing.
It was kind of perfect if you think about it.
The way we both decided to get up to the dance floor,
The way we both were in the same place,
For the same reason, at the exact same time.
Some might call it fate, others coincidence,
But all I know is the feeling of when I turned around,
Completely absent-minded of my surroundings, to find you.
I never liked brown, but suddenly,
Your brown eyes were my favorite color.
And it was the way the music moved between us
Like we had written it ourselves…
And we just let each other go, we just held hands and
Danced to the same beat,
Getting closer and closer like we’d
Known each other for a lifetime.
I’ll never forget the way we didn’t have to speak to know what was happening,
and it was then that I understood,
“Silence speaks volumes.”
I can just imagine the sparks and the lights
That everyone would see when they
Looked at us.
I would’ve seen it too,
If I wasn’t so busy looking at you
