Serenity

The fishing line whistles by my ear. The breeze from the water flows through my hair. The sun rises behind me, as the birds fly through the open sky. The red, white and blue flutters in the wind. and the soft bark of the dog rings in my ears. Seagulls squawk behind me, fighting over a place to land. The lighthouse shines on us again. My brother yelps with excitement at my feet. “I’ve got one, I’ve got one!” And he reels in the first catch of the day.
