Set You Free

Saying goodbye wasn't easy
I never thought I could,
It seemed that you left in a hurry
And didn't look back to see the truth.

You were too young, you were not ready
To see the love written in my tears
You closed your eyes as I stood steady
Waiting for your arms to release my fears.

Now that you're gone my heart is empty
Deep down in my soul I feel the blues
Now that you're gone my heart is breaking
And my silence screams "I still love you".

The years will pass and as you grow older
If you ever look back and remember me
Just let me know you're fine, that your pain is over
And that you became the one I knew you would always be.

Just take your time, your path may be a bit longer
One day you'll realize, one day you'll see
How throughout the years my love has grown stronger
From the very first moment that I set you free.
