Setting the Pace

Setting the Pace

Oh Lord, set my pace,

May the steps I take,

Be for your race.

My Race for you,

Is the important race,

My race for you,

Is to see your face.

You give me the strength,

You help me persevere,

When I get weary,

You always draw near.

Oh Lord, tie my shoes,

Fill my cup,

Give me hunger,

That I may never give up.

Your word is my map,

That keeps me on the right path,

A path of obedience.

When the race is over,

When my days are done,

I’m glad my race to you,

Was the only one.
