Seven Letter Love
It’s beautiful here,
On the ground.
And ma,
I won’t complain.
But I swear sometimes,
My soul is away.
In an ocean blue sky,
Or in a sky blue ocean.
And when that dream is done,
With my soul once again on the stone.
I give a great sigh,
And return this flesh to you.
But, at the fall of night,
Lying in my bed,
Freedom whispers her loves
So very softly in my starving ears.
A drug, that one
Her name so sweet.
So beloved and longed for.
But she is elusive to all but the strong,
And ma, you know which I am.
Let me go to my love,
With her seven letter name,
Who will give me
That which I need
To end my greedy hunger.
Lend me to her
I’ll come back I swear
I may be better,
Or I may be the same.
I just hope I won’t
Be silent and stiff.
