Shades of Blue
There are different shades of blue
As time passes my favorite color doesn’t change
As I grow older, my favorite shade of blue changes
For as long as I can remember my favorite color has been blue
When I was younger I loved the deep kind of blue
When I was five my mother bought me the cutest pair of pale blue shoes
From the moment I saw them I fell in love with pale blue
When I was seven, I got into a fight with my mother the day before she died
I got attached to the darkest shade of blue, almost black
When I was ten, my brother said I could have a birthday party
I wouldn’t take off the light blue dress my sister bought me for a week
When I was twelve, I watched “Ella” for the first time
I knew my wedding shoes would be clear ruby blue
When I was thirteen I watched “Barbie as the Island Princess” with my niece
I was obsessed with island blue and knew the dress in the movie would by my wedding dress
When I was fourteen, I saw the color royal blue somewhere
I tried to get everything in that color
When I was fifteen, I knew it was love at first sight when I saw mediterranean blue
When I turned sixteen, I came up with a color that has many shades blue
I know as I grow older my shade will keep changing
Till I finally decide saying my favorite color is blue, is saying my favorite color is different shades of blue
