A Shadow
It follows us
It is our dark-side
Apart of us that we keep a secret from those we love and want to keep safe
It tempts you
Wants to control you
Sometimes it does
Our minds become so weak that we can’t fight back
We watch as you;No, it confuses your friends and family
Makes them think “Who is this?”
“Why are you doing this”?
No words,no sound
Nothing;That’s all you see
Morning
Your head hurts
Your room is a mess
But you have no more strength
No more power
You lay down as your clock ticks away
Too scared to face the world
Afraid of what it has done
You look at your phone
You lost your lover,your friends
You are alone
That is it wanted
Without support, you start to slip away
It stats to grin
Chaining you to it
Making sure you won’t come back
Your body starts to tremble with the laughter of the person you have become
Your old friends avoid you
Your ex is with your best friend
It fills you with rage and sadness as your shadow feeds on it
It gets stronger as you get weaker
Draining your energy
As the weeks go by, you see a light
A voice calling YOUR name
The chains that once held you are now gone
You run towards the light
It engulfs your body
You slowly open your eyes to see you are not alone
You have your family back
You are you
