The Shadow

Some fall too hard, too fast…

Why did I fall?

Why does the dark night rush to greet me?

The cold night sends chills to my soul

as it yearns for comfort.

The shadow...

The shadow haunts me.

It laughs at my fears and never lets me go.

The cold touch as it wraps around my eyes cuts out all light.

How can I fight?

All I can do is fall.

I fall from light

from love

from warmth, comfort, sanity.

When the shadow comes,

I fall from life.
