In Shadow
Walking, steps matched, in number and in pace
Further on we walk, while briskly, not a race
If anyone comes forth
If anyone attacks
I've trusted in your power
to always have my back
You step out to the monsters
You step out to the ghosts
But the ones I want to love
you step out to the most
I wish you'd see the difference
Between enemy and friend
I wish a time would come,
when your usefulness would end.
But still my thickest part
with ligature and tie
keeps you hard connected
so all I do is sigh
as I die.
The harder I push you away
The more you want to stay
You say its the only way
For me to make it through the day
"What if this?"
"What if that?"
"But did you think of that?"
"You aren't worth anyones time."
"You should stay here in your mind."
Well I'm done with it.
And you're me and I'm you
so I know now what I must do.
You have taken too much now
So fucking much I don't know how
Chances for love
Chances for wealth
A life of adventure
A life of good health
So much exploration
So much I've not done
So much fucking lying
saying "I'm having fun..."
And now worst of all you have taken my jewel
You've made me the king of a world full of fools.
You stood there between us would not let her through
Thought she was talking to me
but she was talking to you.
You told her about me, my strengths and my heights
But I saw there behind you a long bloody knife.
And now that youve cut her and slashed her to bits
You turn back to me to deliver the hits
Is that what you wanted? Is that why you let me let her in?
Did you plan to destory her since before it could begin?
I'm disgusted with you
Which means I've disgusted with myself
But here I still am with me.
God help me.
But first, God help her.
