Shadow

Dear Shadow,

You're with me in every step I take and every step I may see, I speak not to the shadow I see when it is occasionally sunny out I speak to the shadow who lives secretly inside my heart. No matter what I do you always there and it seems as if there is no possible way to get rid of you. You breathe smoke that clogs my lungs and makes breathing unbearable, you a smoke impossible to get rid of. Clogging my veins and making it as if the only possible thing to see is you dark black smoke. Oh, Shadow please I beg you life is soft like pure morning light when you are away and I beg of you to please leave me alone. This darkness you surround me with makes living unbearable and I'm afraid I cannot find any happiness when you are around. Perhaps you may go out and find another soul to suck the life out of and leave my poor beaten up one alone. Why is it that you do this to me? Are you lonely? Please, my happiness can no longer afford to have this consequence of you being attached to me. Dear Shadow, I really and truly wish you only the best.

With the greatest love,

A flicker of light.
