The Shadow
I sit in the corner huddled in fear,
shivers creep down my spine.
I hold my knees and shed a tear,
sounding not a whine.
Those eyes, those holes,
how deep they go, full of only black.
Its mouth, its teeth,
it barely breaths, seems ready to attack.
The Shadow rears back and begins to swell,
filling my entire room.
With it growing by minute, I could foretell,
my time was coming soon.
The light, the dark,
while fighting on, sparked a thought of mine.
To win, to lose,
are only words, whose purpose are perfectly fine.
The Shadow of Death reached its highest,
my life seemed at its end.
The dark needed light and light the darkness,
so I made the Shadown my friend.
