Shadow Boxing

Waking up each day to stare at your back

Having feelings like a panic attack

Would offer anything to see you turn

Imagining leaving with no return

But alas, you choose all of my motions

No control, a bottle in the oceans

No matter what, our feet will be tied

And the stitching will not break, I have tried

I have always wondered if we could meet

And if I was not shackled to your feet

But dreams might never become existence

Unless worked on with extreme persistence

I'm a High school senior that loves poetry and the way poetry can alter perspectives. I write more than just poetry and the poems posted by me on this forum differ based on the emotion being expressed while writing the piece.
