shadow of a memory

who are you

what did you do for me

how did you impact my life

you and i never got along

you were someone never important in my life

always attempt to eradicate my legacy with envy

jealousy of my success due to your own failures

in the midst of your obsession to see many fall

your life crumble like cookies shredded to crumbs

that evaporated in the garbage dump

your existence became a memory

a distant memory so far behind

that your own shadow ran away from your entity you call life

you claim to be a person that stood up for something

but never lived up to the hype

that's why you fell for everything

shadow of a memory

a distant past

life that was surely forgotten

did you forget who you are

if you didn't

sure as hell had a way of people remembering you
