Shadow of Science
Mad in his lab, cackling
I hear him tapping on potion
Bubbles popping and liquids steaming
I stare at him and his motions
Fluid yet confident and daring
It draws even the skeptics
And those that question
His work and madness!
His presence is like an infection, that holds on ever so tightly and can never seem to
Be relieved, remedied, or cured because in the end it does not really exist as a virus
It is nothing more than just a mad man trying to do his work when the rest of society
Is ready to point fingers and hide because they are scared of the unknown
He is the reason why we have so many useful appliances today, accidents
Are the reasons why we get radical inventions but even more
The research of mad men! They are the reason we are in this
Society today, living to be the age we are now and becoming
People different from our relatives and our family men and
Our kin. We are so much more violent than our ancestors
And much more brutal. Look as our children now play more
Games about rape, violence, and robbery as the government
Hire researchers to make more weapons for the sake of
More money! More money our mad friend here can do more
Research! Is that not a win-win situation! Soon we will
Have robots roaming our streets out to save us and protect
Us like the Marvel Comic’s Iron Man. Is that what we want?
A more technological and advance race? Is that what we
As human beings want? To be better, more superior….
