A Shadow the World

I am the diary of a lonely sinner-

Pages bleed with ink as black as my soul.

I am the tears shed by a broken priest-

Blemishing the psalms held so dearly.

I am the fear of loss in young love-

Unaware that time takes away.

I am the lies behind a perfect smile-

False feelings fill every innocent kiss.

I am the arms that cling to a fading life-

Holding onto memories shared in silence.

I am the burning sky in infant eyes-

Tucking you in under quilts of ash.

I am the last wish unto a starless night-

Falling into an empty grave through deaf ears.

I am the one stone in a world of glass-

Its beauty shatters beneath my touch...

I Am: 1) A proud Father, a prodigal son, and a righteous Poet. 2) Acting oblivious to the world, because I could care less about it. 3) Writing poems for or to forget people who don't deserve the spilt ink let alone a piece of a dead tree. 4) Randomly sarcastic in humor with a slight touch of deep-rooted hatred for people who don't get it. 5) So persuasive that I can believe my own lies with honest intentions. 6) Very underestimated when it comes to the power of my word and absence of fear. 7) A sucker for love, but deep down inside - an asshole. 8) Hoping the world will end soon, so I don't have to work and pay bills. 9) Lonely, yet satisfied by not being around hypocrites, liars, whores, and judgmental bible-belts. 10) Probably thinking about something else other than what you're talking about, due to selective hearing. 11) Keeping my Faith in the Darkest of Hours so that I may see the Light one day...
