shadow to your life

I stand in the background, not making a sound No heart, no soul, no tears, no goals How can my presence be so impertinent? Does my demeanor make me seem so subordinate? Explain to me why you are the leader Making me my sisters keeper I am tired of playing cat and mouse Being the black sheep of this house I want to be respected not stepped upon For when the sun goes down I will surely be gone Please remember these last words I shall say to you Before I can no longer take the pain and bid you ado When the ones you love crush your dreams And you feel the need to be a heartless machine Hold me dear to your heart that I am you and you am I I am your shadow forever standing by
