Shadowed Angel
I lay on this bed
With an empty space beside my head
My face is wet but it's not raining
The sky is black but it's not night
I feel his arms wrap around me
Even if it's just a dream
I still believe
I still believe he is here with me
If i close my eyes I can hear him breathe
And if I strain
I can hear his heartbeat
I can smell the shampoo in his damp hair
And if I concentrate hard enough
I can see him over there
The shadow in the corner
With the wings of an angel
And as I step closer
I see the glint in its eyes
This isn't just any angel
This angel is mine
I reach but don't touch
Frozen in time
"He is mine. He is mine.
And never will I let go again"
But I let go of his hand
I let him slip like he was made of sand
"Come back to me"
He is gone but it can't be
He was just here standing in front of me
I still love him even when he leaves
I still love the shadow that he weaves
Because a shadow never stays for long
Goodbye
My shadowed angel
