Shadows

Tendrils of darkness wrap around me.
My shadow, please set me free.
I don't like you. I don't like you.
You are not for me. I am not for you.

Please grant me clarity.
Leave me to be.
I am happy without you.
Please try and live without me.

My shadow, my little leech.
My fear and my defeat.
I need to be free.
I need to breathe.

I'm dying in your presence.
Sinking into your demands.
Getting tired, getting sleepy.
I'm drowning.

You think you're saving me.
You're just making me sink deeper.
Filling my mouth with darkness.
Suffocating me in shadows.
