In The Shadows

There used to be a girl, who wasn't very outspoken

She hid behind others opinions, because she was broken

Following the crowd and blending in seemed ideal back then

Realizing that, that was toxic, she decided, never again

She spread her wings and let her true colors show

Speaking her mind and letting it grow

Only then did she find happiness

And lost the feeling of emptiness

When you stop hiding in the shadows of everyone else

Is when you will truly find yourself
