Shadows

They find me
Right outside my gaze
And flee when I look

They haunt me
But won't show their faces
Though always there

I am no different than they
For eventually we all sink—
Sink into the shadows of our own existence

The afterlife
The afterthoughts
The shadows that I see
They call me
They are waiting
They want to set me free
