The Shadows in the Town Where I Live

Shadows have ears in the town where I live

They'll take all your secrets so careful what you give

They come from forgotten roads and the other sides of hills

And they wait and they watch with patience and skill

And the thing about shadows is you can't run away

They're there on bright nights and on the darkest day

So we live with the shadows and pretend we can't see

And we all pray "don't let them be here for me"

Because the shadows want stories and if you start to tell

Well no one knows but they say the shadows drag you to hell

Because people go missing in the town where I live

When the shadows ask them for secrets and they choose to give.
