Shakespearian Seuss

Society, society, wherefore art thou society?
People just want to disappear
To hide in a crowded room in fear
We hide inside and under our skin
Because all people want is just to fit in
All our differences are hidden
Almost like being unique is forbidden
So society I ask of you
Why it is you do what you do
Why is it you have us hiding in shame
Leaving us to point fingers at others to blame
To blame us for what we have NOT done wrong
Forcing us all to sing the same song
Every so often you need to change it up
Add some harmony into your cup
Add some spice to your recipe of life
You may find that you like it like that
You were expecting a rhyme there cause society told you so
But I can do what I want I’ll have you know
Not because I’m a spoiled brat
But because I think differently then that
I make my own path, I go my own way
Because then nobody can say that I’ve gone astray
I’m what people would call a free thinker
I sit and watch as society’s face gets pinker
Then red as society finally gets mad
But comes to realize they should be embarrassed and sad
So why do we let society rule
When society is only aggressive and cruel
Think for yourself and you can grow wings
You could come up with the most amazing things
Lets make society a thing of the past
Because the world’s a stage … and you’re the cast
