Shakey hands...Dry thoat...I

Shakey hands...

Dry thoat...

I try to sit still in my chair

I can't hear what everyone else is saying

From my heart pounding in my ears

Then I hear it

My name

I'm up

I drag myself to the front of the room

Look out at the faces

I know them

They know me

Why am I so scared

I begin my speech

Stuttering at every sentence

I have the urge to run from the room

Any bad grade is better than this, right?

But I don't

I stand strong

Keep talking...

Finally after ten

Grueling minutes

I can sit, but instead,

I run to the bathroom

And cry

Relief...

I did it

I'm okay
