Shame

The darkness in here makes the room so bare,

I hide out the light so it can’t come near.

You placed me in front of the world I can’t see,

Never acknowledged, that’d show vulnerability.

Sometimes I get taken down to be clean

But I’m put back up with no time-frame to wean.

I know that without you I wouldn’t exist

And I’m sorry I’m stuck, you seem really pissed,

Then you tore me down and you fell to your knees

But shame is a curtain and that curtain is me.
