Shame
Stomp on the floor and you rain me in dust,
Its cleaner six feet under the dirt if you pray,
Smiling heroes only fight when they must,
And face doesn’t matter and skin will decay,
Everyone wants a world that needs saving,
Then saving yourself doesn’t seem so hard,
And silver isn’t always promised for linings,
But death always leaves kings a thank you card,
Prison is an illusion but so is free will,
Hope to find sense but there’s no sense in hope,
Best not to carry the blood they will spill,
Dead man says chains are more free than rope,
Look at a flower and think it means more,
But what could mean more then the life we waste,
Soldiers and brothers once covered the shore,
You could have learned from the shame you erased.
