Shanie
She keeps me warm when the night is cool.
Her ginger locks flow with the breeze.
She hugs so lovingly in my embrace,
No one could ever be her replace.
She smiles so great with many teeth,
All much sharper than most can conceive.
Her eyes a deep and vivid brown,
In times of danger she’ll never back down.
Her garment so simple and yet unique,
It signals her presence with a noise so rowdy.
She has long nails that she gets done quite often,
Her palms are rubbed down until they soften.
She’s held her place for seventy-seven years,
The leader of the pack, the head honcho.
Her devotion to her family so strong and true,
She won’t give up until its time to say adieu.
Her complexion so beauteous and yet untended,
Her hair so silken and so extensive.
She breaks out in a trot right out of the blue,
Her hair graces the grass and absorbs the doo.
She’s a creature of habit,
Eating the same meals everyday.
She can’t speak, in terms of language,
Not a bone in her body that holds any anguish.
Her show of affection is through a kiss,
They’re sweet and kind but leave a wet residue.
Her senses are quite advanced for such a creature,
Her nose and her ears are her best features.
My love for her knows no bounds,
She holds a place dearest to my heart.
My sister, my best friend,
My dog will be with me until the end.
