"Sharing" for our future

A soft chill bites at her fingers as she types her outrage

Ready to share it with the world.

Her gaze shifts to the ripples bouncing across the water,

They call out to her to use her power

Use her power to create change.

And with that she presses ‘share’.

She stands at the front of a diverse community of people

Words in their hands, full of indignation.

Millions of phones capture this sensation,

Sharing it with the world.

Giving other people the chance to fight

Fight for the environment, people and the future.

The opinions of those that disagree

Attack her for her age, gender, education.

They try to kill her voice for their own defence

Worrying more about their pride than their home.

But she will not give them the satisfaction of her fury

Instead she’ll show them the strength of her smile

She stands in front of billions

Fighting for the rights of the earth they live on.

She will not stop until there is change

Until there is evidence of change.

And as videos of her are being seen, spread and shared across the world

She can feel the change begin.
