Sharing Space Is Enough For Us

sharing space is enough for us
headlights bouncing off specs of dust
tiny worlds much like ours
pass away silently through the hour

daughters of man lie about
sweaty; their hearts pouring with doubt
get caught intwined in a midnight swim
closest they come but away from him

beating and breathless they try to hide
swelling hearts can turn the tide
shoes put on to forget the past
clothing taken off to raise the mast

staining hands of flesh and sky
one little mind clouds my eye
can't see much through the fog
except the regret of a midnight jog

What a wonderful (and contemporary) poem! I have not seen an example as excellent in awhile. Your style is straight forward with a modern voice. There are many great contemporary poets than I believe you will like. Keep on experimenting and sharing these works. Q.V.
