Shattered

Putting a broken heart back together seems impossible.

But you showed up and began to put the pieces back together,

All the zig-zags and corners, they all started to fit.

Butterflies began to flutter around in my stomach and it all started to feel real.

And then as quickly as you came, you disappeared.

You took a hammer to all those pieces and shattered them.

People like you are so hard to find and I know you would've been the right one for me.

Those shattered pieces will always remain as they are,

No one will ever be able to put them back together like you did.

I miss you more and more every day.

I can't help but wonder what God's reasoning was when he sent you my way.

I can't decide if I want to wait around and see how it all turns out.

All I know is you shattered my broken heart.
