Shattered

Shattered

The pieces of my heart fall around me as I sit on the floor my knees to my chest

He left me here, nothing but a shell of who I used to be

Rocking back and forth on the floor

You're the one who I long for

Why'd you leave me here

All alone?

With pieces of my heart in my hands, moaning and crying the song of sweet sorrow

I want him back

But was he ever mine to keep?

I'll never win; she won the prize

I'm simply a runner up

Not significant enough to even dream of being on his arm

In his arms

Simply a fantasy.

I sit here shattered, empty and cold

Will this feeling ever get old?
