Shattered

She stared blankly into the moonlight as suddenly she felt nothing.

No emotion.

No pain.

Her heart had been shattered one too many times to ever feel the same.

She knew as days, months, years went by that one day she would feel okay.

It just sucked that someone made her feel this way.

In this moment she was certain that she would never be the same.

Too many lies.

Too many broken promises.

Too many second chances.

Too many starting overs.

All she has longed for is the love like she gives.

But she's never enough.

She had finally given up. She was done.

As her heart sunk and shattered, she felt an emptiness within her.

A void in which she didn't want filled.. at least not by anyone else.
