shattered innocence

In shadows deep, the secrets lie, Where innocence did slowly die. A child, a home, where danger crept, And evil's touch a nightmare wept. From family's grasp, no refuge found, Outside, a world with darkness crowned. A sickened soul, a homeless plight, His vile touch shrouded in the night. A body marred by hateful sin, A childhood lost, what could have been. Injustice weaves its cruel design, Through tear-stained eyes and heart's confines. Survivor of the war within, A battle fought through cries and din. The scars unseen etched deep in skin, The price of living soaked in sin. Corruption's taint upon the past, A drowning spirit held steadfast. In hellish depths, forgiveness sought, To heal the wounds that time forgot. Through hard times faced and hatred felt, A journey through life's cards has been dealt. The path to wellness paved with pain, Yet strength emerges through the rain. Homeless echoes linger still, An echo of the soul's dark thrill. PTSD’s grip tries to hold tight, But self-love blooms in darkest night. For loving oneself through the strife, Is holding onto precious life. Embracing scars, reclaiming youth— In shadows' wake, emerges truth.
