Shattered Lass
In the dark box
lie love letters
composed of deceitful words
Godiva wrappers and paper boats
Once meant more than words
Paper hearts split like their love
Occupy nothing but space inside the box
The Pez key chain and red bows
mean nothing from now on
All left of her is naught
but the Pride button itself
And the invaluable choker
that ended up in there by mistake.
