SHATTERED SOULS


We were led to a strange land and shattered Through the thick and thorns of a forest Our feet were were battered The captors made us lay briefly for rest The scorching heat of the sun roasted our hearts As we thronged feebly and eternally snared O hell, hell you have descended briskly on Earth Souls of men have been bounded and smeared Our blood gush like the falls of Rhine Only the silent hard drummings of our heart beats And the gasping bruit breath from our nostrils Have inquired the seeming heedless Heavens
