The Shattering

Close your eyes and shut your mouth,

The Shattering is coming for you.

The hammer is coming

       Down,

                   Down,

               Down,

Are your eyes closed? It might pass you by.

Filter those little ears, listen to Mommy and Daddy—

They know what’s best...

SLAM!

Is that a peak?

SLAM!

Your little eyes were cracked…

SLAM!

You asked about that thing…

SLAM!

The Shattering is here for you,

The little snow globe you used to call life,

Now has the glass and glitter splattered across the floor.

The Shattering has gotten you now.

No more childlike-innocence for you.
