Shaving

Wed, 08/29/2018 - 09:31 -- Jerney

Shaving used to be just a razor before glass before safety pins before my nails before

I still think there was a before      but my mind has been cut and tried to fit bewteen the

lines on my thighs. There's not much room to fit this mind

and still manage to loose lines   my mind.

Shaving was only supposed to be lines

shaving lines

and no one said that I needed saving because lines are just an attention deficit

just shaving        just shaving        just shaving me down mowing my lines

punishing my skin because mommy and no one else

wanted lines                 I didn't want lines              I didn't want me

I didn't want anyone to want me.

Shaving was a welcome into Now You Understand but

You'll Never Know Why.

Why don't these lines spill out of me           I opened up!

Think myself lines cut by the blade and I thought myself severed lines

Could this be why Mommy and Davy             (I said his name)

said never touch the blade

They never wanted an undoing to their lines.

This poem is about:
Me
My family
