She

When I was younger, I used to cover up my scars

So that she would not see my pain

Whenever I came over to her house

But sometimes, I wonder if she knew but never told me.

So that she would not see my pain,

I would always wear jackets or cardigans,

And even when it was the hottest, she’d never tell me to take it off.

Whenever I came to her house,

She would ask what time I needed to get home,

And I used to think that she was oblivious.

But sometimes, I wonder if she knew but never told me,

But I suppose it does not matter now,

For He has already made his mark.
