She

She was saving herself

But one night she was taken

Ever since then

Her hands haven’t stopped shaking

She walks into class

Her head held low

Everybody laughs

And calls her a hoe

She works from nine to five

Gets home and sits on the sofa

She hears the baby cry

And knows her job isn’t over

She has dreams

He never cared about those

He comes home angry at night

She goes to bed with a bloody nose

Her life was full of pain

So she went to the medicine cabinet

Swallowed all those pills

I wish someone could have stopped it

She ran away

From the life she was given

She couldn’t save herself

And see that life is worth living.
