Like She Did

He swung

And he missed

He misses her

When it rains

Her eyes

They always reminded him

Of green oceans

Wide open

Sad and hopeful

Hair spun of sugar

And now he sits there

And with that old photo

He wonders

What went wrong

And he prays

He'll move on

Like she did

It's been awhile

Since he smiled

The way he smiled

When she was his

He can't remember

The last time

He laughed

Like he used to

He misses her

When it rains most

The cost

Was so much more

Then he could've ever dreamed

He turned around

He let her down

And she was gone

And he prays

He'll move on

Like she did

He thinks of her

Every day

Every minute

He wonders

How long forever is

And if that's his life now

Sitting around

In this sleepy town

Hanging out

And praying

She'll come back around

Sweep in

Get under his skin

He knows

He'll die

Loving her

But every day

He prays

He'll find it in himself

To turn away

Be strong

And move one

Like she did

But he knows

Deep down

There is no moving on

From her
