She Grew

Her carefree days were filled with joy and sunshine so sweet,

She was unaware that these days would vanish; it was adulthood She soon would meet.

She entered college of pure heart, with her arms outstretched and ready to uplift

She knew that she was blessed and the opportunity for higher education was surely a gift.

She soon found the burden of bills starting to grow and grow,

What was She to do? Who could she turn to? Where else could she go?

Mountains of stress began to grow upon her once barren shoulders,

Her scholarships and grants would only cover so much; someone should've told her!

She thought to herself, "growing up is much harder than it appears."

As the student loans grew and grew, she began to sob many tears.

But this was not who She truly was, fragile and weak

Inner strength, resolutions, and wisdom is what She began to seek.

That season of Her life proved to be draining, rugged, and rough

It was one of many tests in early adulthood that prove to be tough.

Carefree days were no more, it was time for this girl to grow in many ways

It was time to be a responsible young woman,

For childhood was just a fleeting phase...
