she has eyes too

you might not think it, but this girl has eyes

rough hands took her by her wrists,

condemned her to a life of submission

they took her voise

and they took her heart

leaving only her eyes.

years passed

as she was used and spat out like a wad of gum

she stayed quiet.

but if one were to stop,

look into her chocolate eyes,

they would see,

they would KNOW

all the shit she's seen.

they would live through the highs and lows,

through love and grief.

through pain and lust.

through hardship and triumph.

but

she cant speak

she's forgotten how to feel

so she relies on people to look

through her eyes.
