she keeps me warm.

i heard a song today.
a song that made me stop.
and think.
i don't remember the last time i have done that.
stopped and thunk i mean.
we often live our daily routines with out ever a second glance at the world around us.
what has changed overnight?
that tree has lost a dear leaf.
and that little sarah girl isn't on her swing.
the jones's have repainted their door.
the pavement has longer cracks.
do you notice these changes?
or do you just live. . .
without purpose.
the song has a very debated message.
a message that the holiest and unworthiest have come to debate.
i am torn. between the world i have known my whole life. . .
. . .and the one where equality is merely a legend.
