She leaves as gentle as the breeze

Gentle as she passes by She brushes against your cheek. So smooth, so cooling she makes you feel at peace. But such a cruel mistress is she as she changes for the worst. She twists and blows, like hell released Leaves only wreckage in her wake And leaves but a gentle touch to remember. The wind, the breeze is her name. The light chill on your face, The cool on your back after a hard day’s work. Is this the same body that smashes the weak? That smashes the strong? No prejudice does she show in her anger. Is this the same demon that bends the palm trees? And like a hand of God, Level the towns and smite their people? Her rage how shocking, how merciless, how cruel. And she leaves with but a gentle kiss, And the pretty sight of a rainbow, To counsel your broken soul. She leaves as gentle as the breeze.
